Militarily its pointless, most troops would walk south to be in a properly funded military. Just saying that feels weird, I would b in favour of expansion of the military infrastructure as a part of our current deficit spending, expand acquisition to 3 of the CVN series for use as assault ships ect.

Odds are we would get the oil, thing is theirs **** all of it left and the good hydrocarbon reserves are in Lancashire, nor the North Sea. And lets not get started on this ridiculous tidal/wave power systems being spouted. A fraction of that potential can be tapped, and economically it would be cheaper to line up nuclear stations along the border and pump Europe full like a Glaswegian junkie.

Bankers I know would relocate to London or Manchester. Shell and BP, assuming the Oil remains here, could be seduced by lower taxes to do with extraction to relocate to Aberdeen but that's a remote chance to bank the entire Scottish economy on.

No pride in it as a Scotsman, but independence is unviable. Only way it makes sense is as a separate state within a European Federation, which I would back, but till then the UK works dandy.

I've heard rumors of a Spanish recovery starting to take hold, haven't been following the Club Med as much lately.

A Federal structure makes sense from my perspective, leverage the worlds largest economy, biggest military by numbers and 2nd largest by defence spending into a cohesive mixed hard/soft power. Would be curious to find out what the Germans would do to be frank, their Federation may dissolve and become member states of the EFed, why have a needless layer between the two thats hard enough to manage as it is. Besides, Austria's been doing well.

Oh and take responsibility for Greece, thats a fuckup we can clean up if we have a vested interest in doing so, ie deploy peacekeepers and investment programs for the state.

Thing is, my Northern European mentality looks for an externally cohesive, internally competitive model. Can't remember the name, but there was an Italian man in the 1850's who considered European consolidation the natural conclusion of the unification of Germany and Italy. Be interesting like a Caterpillar really, the big chunky states of Germany, Britain, Spain and Italy breaking up and their breakaways being states within the Federation.

Its a topic of great interest to me, and after that happens.... what then? Russia?

I've been using Audacity for some time already, since Wavelab became too much of a resourcehog.
I came across this, which might have the functionality I'm looking for.
